INTIMATE GOD -glenn kaiser 12/05/23

I may have shared this prior but if so I'm going to repeat it now.

Don't ALL OF US need times of refreshing in the Spirit (see the Book of Acts for more on that)?

When A.W. Tozer writes about our relationship to the Lord that "Nearness is likeness" isn't this what all followers of Jesus hope and yes, work for in daily life on the planet?

In a broken world so full of hatred, hard and take-no-prisoners polarization and meanness we yet must not stop being godly activists in caring for those around us, both praying for and doing the practical work of solidarity and creating positive change for "the least of these". YES. Got that.

But without hiding our heads in the sand, passing by the widow, orphan and afflicted yet there are times we all need breaks, peace, quiet and close-and-closer fellowship with the Lord. In that light:

In The Spirit of the Disciplines Dallas Willard explains how to practice dwelling in “the secret place of the Most High” (Psalm 91.1, NKJV), to be “secretly in a pavilion” of God’s presence that is “free from the strife of tongues” (Psalm 31.20, NKJV).

Such quiet interaction with Abba Father is such a need. Let's take time, create or find spaces, places, closeness.

As always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn
