New Phone, Fresh Peace

When time, calendar to-do's, touring and money allows my wife and I and often some of our family goes camping at a favorite Illinois state park about an hour and 20 minutes from our Chicago home.

We try to do this once in Spring and again in Autumn when possible.

This coming weekend I'll be offline and as my truly old mobile phone was about cooked I was blessed with a new one. I won't go into all the details but have long been adverse about using a lot of pre-loaded apps and as I do so much online I keep my personally added apps to a minimum. So I don't use any of my social media when camping or the like as I usually leave my laptop at home -as I will this weekend. I use one private writing app, the phone and text apps, GPS, have a Bible and a wide range of news and weather sites bookmarked but NO social media sites on this phone -on purpose.

See, there are ways to break the constant scrolling or un-needed contacting folks and for me this is one of them which indeed brings peace and calm when getting out in the woods, on water or just taking a break and getting time and space to be with your loved one/s and breathe!

I love taking photos and keeping notes but the notes can be hand written in a little

notebook too. Making campfires, chatting, taking hikes and just being together and truly present with your loved ones is a tonic I do love!

So... enjoy the Spring weather (may it be safe where you are), keep your eyes on Jesus and may you too cultivate and share peace!

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
