"Just" Wars?

A bro brought a good point in reply to one of my posts on who gets to dictate and mentioned Hitler and WWII as an example of a bad actor. The overall is of course the idea of what is often called "just war" theory, that some wars are nearly if not completely essential for the cause of justice. My response:
"1. Point taken in that Hitler was evil to the core, demonic, no question about it. 2. had the Allies not hammered Germany in terms of the surrender and economics that nailed them at the end of WWI, then came the Great Depression (note, Wall Street) adding to the misery Hitler would have never happened and possibly not WWII either. 3. dictate for the sake of control/power/personal gain (as in Putin re. Ukraine, etc., etc., etc.!) and ultimately we are talking about economic$ and those with most of the money and power... well serious study of history brings us to face that money/power/military force in the -main- ("The military/industrial complex" that President/Allied General Eisenhower specifically warned about) gives birth to most every war in the history of humankind. Book of James lays it out clearly. So identifying the bad actors causes me to consider "for all have sinned and fallen short of the righteousness of God". Jesus made quite a few statements such as "Blessed are the peacemakers", "Those who live by the sword shall die by the sword" and on it goes. If, as President Carter, former military officer said "War is always evil" is true, I often think "just war theory" boils not to wars to bring justice but rather "it's just war". I do think "Who would Jesus bomb?" isn't a bad question to ask ourselves."
I decided to copy and paste here in my blog site for the sake of clarity and history as the gist of what I wrote here is how I've thought about the issues for perhaps 55 or more years at the time I now write in 2026.
As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
