Blues, Buddy Guy, And...

If you've read my writing or listened to interviews I've given you may know I'm a serious life-long fan of history -and blues music. Because I care about people and particularly minority people and their plight as well as music I sometimes come across amazing online stuff I think worth sharing.


Today looking for a Buddy Guy quote I happened on an important article and organization I had been unaware of:

Two quotes attributed to Buddy, brilliantly gifted iconic Chicago bluesman:


"Blues is the music of the underdog, it gives a voice to the voiceless."


"Blues and Black spiritual music, those are the roots, many people will not agree with me, but I learned from people who are no longer with us and I know it is a message from a long time ago."
