Well here I am again sitting outside of Cook County Jail in Chicago. In a few minutes I'll check in at the gate and go to share a bit of my testimony of grace in my life and encourage those attending the Bible study to give thanks.

Can we breathe at all? Give thanks! Can we hear even a little? Thanks to God! Does food have any taste? Praise God. can we walk or otherwise move around a bit? Bless the Lord! Have we eyes to read and the ability to make sense with writings? Alleluia!! I mean just face it, God has blessed ALL of us with various graces- and giving the Father glory and thanksgiving, praising Jesus for His mercy, enjoying that of the Holy Spirit giving what He does... nobody deserves thanks like the Lord!

Here is Thanksgiving coming around again and there's the old cliche but absolutely true reality: Jesus has blessed nearly all reading this with the ability to breathe, think, speak, eat, sleep, regardless of the various pains, even from simply aging.

We really have all received unearned mercies because of the love of God for each one of us.

Tomorrow I do a bunch of laundry, also help out my wife as she does a weekly chore. I plan to build a little five string lyre with a cigar box, then do dishes with a good bro for the community where we live and serve with over 100 adults, a bunch of kids and visitors.

So much grace and the ability to worship God, and to experience his peace!

I'll never forget the many years I walked spiritually numb, my head thick with self and no real satisfaction. How I thank God those years are far behind me!!

Oh I get tempted and and sometimes foolishly jump the fences as I guess everyone does in some sense but I thank God for forgiveness and grace for sins because of Jesus' sacrifice for us. Praise God for His and our resurrection!!!
