Witness 2.0

So a longtime close friend shared how his best bud's Mom was so very kind to them as they came in late at night after a concert/dope-loaded drive. She pointed them toward the showers, had clean beds made and in the morning a huge tasty breakfast laid out. He said there was no way she couldn't have known their issues but showed them such love and kindness he asked his friend "Wow, what is it with your Mother?" who simply said "She's a Christian." It was one of the reasons my bro. in Christ became a follower of Jesus.

I've regularly called us (myself as well!!) to love people we disagree with. Now I'm asking if you, like our Father in heaven... are willing to be (love is...) both patient and kind, even sharing, giving to people you strongly disagree with. Yes, God is. God does! How do you think you or I have been saved if not for that?!

So many professing followers of Jesus in history have taken on a militant attack-mode approach to those with whom they disagree it's a wonder anyone comes to follow Him. Or is it?

A loving, gracious witness is such a shock, so persuasive and so different to many rather than the pit-bull mentality in our time that I suspect the Spirit will indeed have His way via such saints versus the argue-them-into-the-dirt methods far too many tend toward.

A loving, kind witness? Now that's a concept worth applying!

As always, thanks for stopping by :) -Glenn
