As we all know, you can know about someone and not really know them in relationship. Very different matters, no? (How often can I use know and no in one sentence, ha?!).

In learning who God is rather than our own manufacturing Him ourselves, our best grounded, solid source is what He says about Himself via those who chronicled His very words and actions, interactions with humans going back to God's Word -the Bible. By this we can learn Who He is and how He deals with people and nations. I suggest we read and study it daily, slowly, prayerfully. It is the mirror to who we really are and can become as well as the best, trustworthy source of Who He is and how He has moved and moves both in and among us.

As we pay attention to the Book of all books we can learn to recognize His Life and story mingling with our own -and IF we "draw near to Him He will draw near" to us as James tells us. IF we put away double-mindedness we discover and deepen our own experience with God, experiencing HIS presence, power and graces.

Thus by our study and interaction of/with Jesus, the Father, The Holy Spirit we can know Him more and more deeply each day.

Too many do not -and so do not know much less grow "in the grace and knowledge our Lord Jesus Christ " (see 2 Peter 3.18).

Note, some so focus on "feeling God" it's a bit like thinking marriage as no more than a continual honeymoon -intimacy is far more than feelings and mere experience. A deepening marriage involves focused, quality listening as well as everyday interaction with one we've chosen to love above and beyond all others. This is as true about God as in human relationships.

I believe this is not only important to apply or simply an option but essential if we are to know God and know Him more!

And as always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn

Faith in the Unfaithful?

How difficult to have faith in an unfaithful person! Some judge God and you and I as not worthy of respect as neither always seems to provide reasons to trust. We simply don't always get what we want
