Want Life and Peace?

Apostle Paul makes a simple yet profound statement in Romans 8.6: "To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace." Dig deeper: https://biblehub.com/romans/8-6.htm

He made many related statements such as in Galatians 5 mentioning that one of the fruits God the Holy Spirit grows in a follower of Jesus is peace.

Jesus said "It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life." (John 6.63)

The wise French bishop Fenelon taught "Peace is the will of God for you in every situation".

It really isn't rocket-science to recognize inner peace, even emotional stability is greatly affected by our mind, our thoughts. To be spiritually-minded IS "life and peace" and there you have a rather clear explanation as to why many don't seem to have much of either.

The remedy is equally obvious: reach up and out of yourself to God, study and apply the words and example of Jesus, learn and continue learning relationship with the Spirit of God in daily choices, thought, study, prayer-conversation that includes listening to Him as well as casting your cares on Him verbally -not merely "spirituality" as some wide, foggy guessing like having faith in a cloud of mist "out there somewhere" in mere imagination and myth of human origin but by cultivating a mind SET on the true God and His desires.

Jesus told us straight we'd have troubles, even persecution in this fallen world that gives more credit to human thought and faith in human ability than in God Himself revealed in Jesus -but a genuine, continuing and maintained growth in daily relationship and study of the Lord creates BY the Spirit a true and get this- eternal spirituality built by God within a Christ-follower's life.

We are not the source of our own "life and peace" nor genuine, authentic spirituality.

I'm quite sure there are plenty of folks needing to hear and apply this today!

And as always, thanks for stopping by :) -Glenn
