Ha, yep, some would say I'm a hoarder. The fact is I love Danish design and near-zero clutter but that has never stopped me from accumulating more stuff! I suppose I'm not the only one but still.
Today we attended our 2nd annual in-fellowship UFG (up for grabs) pre-holiday giveaway. All good stuff, fun, useful and perhaps Christmas gifts for others. Yup. A large room, tables provided, set-up for 2 hours and then 3 or so hours of "Come and get it!". ALL SORTS of stuff. Wendi and I loaded a table and put some under it. Clearing the decks prior to "deck the halls" :)
I was sorely tempted by the smallest little Kindle Fire I've ever seen but didn't need it and so didn't succumb! I -did- need some jet-black paper for mini-zines I'm creating but that was all I took.
All the focus on Jesus's birth, our kids and grandkids, friends and the worship and depth of Advent is near so presents are part of that but the real deal is relationship to Him and others -not stuff.
A couple weeks ago I was able to clear enough out of my office I can actually walk around in it now. Spacious grace! It's my combo office/workshop/solo music gear storage and storage for my and Wendi's camping, fishing and etc. gear, books, some memorabilia and my many cigarbox and found-object guitars, related parts and such. It's closet also houses most of my clothes so Wendi can use most of our room closet across the hall. My office also stores a few bins of Wendi's summer/winter wear.
Well, after 52 years of marriage keeping it simple in a couple rooms takes effort but I'm blessed to say today was a good day in the not-so-much-or-more-stuff department! HA!
Oops- updating this post... 2 hours ago I went down to be sure our stuff was taken or I'd clear it -and that little Kindle was still there. Time to upload from my other Kindle and get rid of that one in exchange for this lil' one. Yeah I know...
Hope your Thanksgiving is Blessed! And as always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
