So Glenn- WHY?

You might wonder about me (HA... plenty do!). So... why do I continually study and communicate in areas of history, anthropology, sociology, musicology, etymology, issues touching on therapy, racism, classism and political matters? WHY do these all matter greatly to me?

Because I'm a human being on a planet full of us carrying all sorts of skills, gifts, burdens, strengths, weaknesses, sins, temptations, victories, defeats and all of this is part of the REAL world we live in until one day we leave here. It's all about people for me, always was and became more so the longer I walked in faith with Jesus.

Studying, learning, hands-to-plow in practical areas and of course as a musician, lyricist, preacher and writer as well as traveler in a large part of the inhabited world both urban and rural, a devourer of information and culture in the process of sharing the Good News of Jesus I also find myself a continual learner. You must never stop as long as you're on the planet. Why?

So that knowledge may morph into wisdom with the core motive seeking to grow in awareness, understanding and most of all compassion and practical interaction with others as they permit.

This is a life-long pursuit if one cares about God, His thoughts, ways and desires for us to love one another. It's that simple -or complex if you wish to think of it that way.

Whether Resurrection Band's first project "Awaiting Your Reply" through to"Lament", via GKB blues/rock and all my blues, r&b, singer songwriter projects as diverse as "Time Will Tell" and "Swamp Gas Messiahs" what you've just read here is the deal, the why for me.

I could have just wasted my life going after ever more money, power, seeking fame and personal approval as my actual motives for living, decision-making and even music and art

-but in the end none of that reflects my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ministry means -serving others with what God has given you- and if done rightly, in His love, not for personal gain.

As flawed, wrong, silly and bungling as I've been over the years, my forays into the things I list at the top of this article have helped guide me along the path. I'm convinced the Spirit of God acts as we seek truth and not mere confirmation bias digging into history and all the rest.

I'm often saddened at the lack of empathy and grace toward others I still find within myself. No violin here, this is simply the truth!

So- many could care less and that's also to be expected, but if you happen to wonder about my "why" in the things I've mentioned, here it is.

And as always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
