In super-brief what it is and ain't for a Christ-follower.

Like holiness, God imputes righteousness to us as a gift via Jesus's sacrifice and our faith to believe and walk with Him in love and trust. Of course even our faith is a gift He gives us!

The practical, daily boots-on-ground reality is these gifts are like a 2-sided coin in a sense -no good unless spent.

Our response, the fruit of these is evidenced in our daily relationship with God and others in active participation and partnership with the Lord and people.

According to Jesus in John 15 and elsewhere we are to produce good, enduring fruit in our repentance and walk.

So righteous thoughts, speech, behaviors and acts are the connecting result of our appropriation of the righteousness of our Lord and Savior.

Nobody- including myself is sinless, always in all these ways automatically right or righteous in all things.

This is why taking fearless moral inventory, confession and repentance is an ongoing thread that run through the entire life of a true follower of Jesus.

None of us are always right, therefore in daily love we may be righteous in Christ and yet saints who sometimes sin needing God's grace, forgiveness and a growing wisdom as His disciples -not merely a one-time transaction we deposit in the bank and never spend.

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
