Jesus Movement Interviews

  • Jan 13, 2025

In searching for something else I found something today that I'd sent out to just 6 key people in August of 2015. Here it is. Did I ever complete and finish all the interviews and publish them? Up until this moment (Jan. 2025), no. But perhaps if you were truly there you'd consider the following regarding your own experience, to your/other's possible benefit. As always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn

Hi,

I am emailing this to myself to save time, and passing it on to all I wish to conduct an interview with, be it via writing -or- audio.

I am about to begin some live webcasts but prior to that may just do written and audio interviews where you simply answer the questions as you see fit.

It seems to me few books or other media on the subject is written from a first-person narrative, that is, those who actually came to faith in those days living out relationships to both Jesus and many young and young-at-heart Christians both within and outside traditional congregations IN and AS PART of the Jesus Movement.

Note that I would publicize these interviews on all my websites and possibly beyond, not for profit but for the sake of living witnesses of each of our lives being powerfully shaped by the Holy Spirit via Jesus moving in those days.

Please inform me if you would PREFER either written or audio (phone or person-to-person) interview format.

Do let me know if you are willing to participate and do not hesitate to add or critique my questions here.

Yours for Jesus and His grace in our times,

-Glenn Kaiser

JESUS MOVEMENT EXPERIENCE/S FROM THOSE WHO WERE THERE...

1. How did you first hear about and become involved in what is commonly known as "the Jesus Movement" / Jesus People phenomenon of the 1960's - 1970's?

2. What most impressed you INITIALLY about the people you became close to in the movement?

3. Were any of your fears or concerns realized as time went on regarding your involvement with the movement?

4. Could you comment about the culture (hair, dress, music, overall artistic matters) you experienced, and your thoughts about them?

5. From your perspective A) then and B) now, looking back -what sort of relationships did you experience between traditional churches and your group of Jesus People?

6. Have you any regrets regarding your Jesus Movement experience?

7. Understanding this is a matter of personal, subjective perspective, why do you believe the Jesus Movement (as such) ended? How does it continue today?

8. Please share any positives that you have continued to appreciate which you A) learned and B) continue to enjoy from those days.

9. In your opinion, might today's local congregations -whether traditional, house churches, denominational or otherwise learn anything from the historical Jesus Movement and if so, what?

For those who choose to participate, thank you very much!
