Growing!

If you've read, listened or watched me over the years you'll know I've mentioned the blessings and discomforts of change but also the necessity of it as per Jesus' Own teachings for all who would follow Him. Paul accents we are "being changed from glory to glory".

Change takes time.

Well- you may also know my wife is a gardener extraordinaire and our rooms include plenty of cool plants she (and I) tend. I sometimes think we should name one Robert but that's another matter :)

So in North America the time is soon upon us to dig, work in our deck garden and plant the many sorts of edibles, beautiful things and then comes the nurturing, watering, watch-care, adding breathe-through coverings for some, shade or full sun depending on each one's needs for best chance of health and growth.

All of this totally relates to spirituality, Christ-centered/focused growth and movement. It's not placid, hard earth living God has called us to! But there is work involved and of course if the fruit is ever going to show up it's all about cooperation with the Lord as we are nurtured in prayer conversations with Him, daily in His Word (Bible), linking in open and honest fellowship (more than mere socializing) with godly mentors, accountability partners, friends who care about our progress, plateauing or regress as the case may be. It involves loving and reaching out to neighbors regardless of our fears, intense self-interest -but out of love and obedience to Jesus and His Gospel. Challenges await.

The greatest challenge to me is... uhhhh... -me-. Oh a demon whispers in my ear adding temptations but dying to self and growing in Christ means just that -we cannot be stagnant even though it's often admittedly more comfortable than when the Spirit of Truth/Comforter convicts us that change is the will of our Father in heaven -and He's NOT changing in His love or desires for us...

Faith, Hope, Love of and in Jesus Christ and in reality, ALL relationships -are the ground of growth. Growing is His plan for you and me in EVERY season!

And as always, thanks for stopping by :) -Glenn
