Either-Or?

I get that some folks are put off by any position regarding binary thinking and yet the Bible at times is quite such regardless of specific book author.

Of course we'd all much rather hear what we want to hear, think what we want to think and at times even oppose what God says. Can we not be honest about this?

One essential "This" to consider: the divide of sin-Savior. I mean, if we can ignore one or both we figure... clearly some figure "I'm good to go". The question is then- going where?

Defining sin -on our own- or ignoring any sense of right-wrong to focus on the zillion options makes sense if in fact we are capable of being our own Savior. Then again no sin, who needs a savior, right?

As I've written in blog posts prior, the reality of our own sense of right-wrong is all over the map even at times among professing Christians. That's obvious even by the many various churches -or attending one at all (lots of options in these, no?).

So this sin-Savior matter... what of it?

I've long been convinced manufacturing one's own divinity is not only ignorant but a far less believable position than seeking Whom the Bible calls Savior -Jesus Christ.

IF He came as it tells us, and died and rose with one of the specific issues doing so that we'd be forgiven and set free from what God defines as sin, we don't have such power in and of ourselves.

The issue is and has always been that we can no longer merely live independently, apart from Him and experience life, nor the eternal life that Jesus proclaimed.

God did and does something about sin none of us can do without Jesus.

So- the answer is The. Savior, seeking, believing, following, trusting Him.

There are plenty of either-or issues in choices we make on this planet. Whether to extend faith and surrender to Him is the pivot for eternity far beyond our lifespan here. It really is an either-or matter.

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
