Education... ESSENTIAL

So it's obvious from day one, from Genesis 1.1 and from everything written, spoken and repeated in human history that education is a major and indeed essential part of life.
It's also obvious that regardless of where or in what area you seek knowledge- fact-checking and considering the source of the information is super important. Why? Because everyone has opinions but they are not all hard, true, test-of-time facts.
The problem as for example, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stated is "Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions." Reality is that unless one is both willing AND spends the time and effort to do hard research, study, read, listen and watch, one's mind and views often atrophy and they merely camp/park/fully stop learning and thus growing.
I have long found it profound that Peter emphasized what may seem a rather simple and "meh" encouragement to some in his 2nd letter to the churches: "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." How does that happen if one stops learning ever more about Jesus and His grace, both mentally and by experience in daily, regular relationship? It. Doesn't.
The same goes for knowledge of history, of our world and how things happened in the past and do in the present. It means seeking a wide, broad range of communicators that go FAR beyond opinion pundits as we scroll social media or chatter in coffee shops with people who all 95 percent think as we already do. It may be bias-confirming but it won't help you grow, learn and have more to offer others.
The issues of GETTING more education are not always simple or easily fixed due to the expense of time, money, transport and of course learning to grow with a good heart, open mind but not merely going for mind/personal desire candy that makes us feel better. In fact feeling better often takes a hike as we study actual, verifiable information whether sourced in libraries, online or taking classes from genuine scholars and not mere social media influencers. Again, it takes effort and I repeat, a wide range of sources not mere "I LIKE what she/he said" because it kisses up to our already-formed opinions.
I could quote a number of (to me at least) amazing sources re. Bible instruction, church commentary and history both Christian and general history on all this- but again, what I've already said above!
How serious are you- and I... about learning, growing in both knowledge and wisdom? If we are, what sacrifices are we willing to make in order to do so? Those are the issues each of us must answer throughout our lives.
As always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn
