COUNSELor

Isaiah refers to Messiah Jesus as "Wonderful Counselor" among other amazing and beautiful elements of His Person, indeed, His deity. (see for details: https://biblehub.com/text/isaiah/9-6.htm)

If you read my writing or heard me speak over the many years you'll often hear me say accountability, getting sound, sage, experienced advice and to be sure, wisdom from others regularly is massively important. Please don't allow any vestiges of your at times stubborn, rebellious old nature blow this off!

And yet, it's taking our own counsel and not that of God that so often moves us from temptation to sin, from irritation to acting out in anything but love for God and our neighbor. Let's face this fact!

Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Counselor and Comforter. Paul tells us in Him (Jesus) are hidden ALL the keys/treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He often speaks to us via other godly folks, He also speaks to us directly via His Word (Scripture). Are we listening? Where do we go for direction, clarity, how to live out loving obedience to the One we call Lord and Savior?

Have a slow read through Psalm 33.11 and it's key words: https://biblehub.com/psalms/33-11.htm#lexicon

The already-written and proclaimed (and tested, lived-out by His people) Word of God- the Bible, is our most sure foundation.

Note, Adam and Eve gave more credence and put more faith in a voice other than God's Own Words to them. Consider what happened.

Another slow walk to help you? Right here: https://www.bible.com/bible/2016/PSA.1.NRSV

As always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn
