YES: In His Image!

Genesis 1.27- "So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."
Some of you read this and take inventory of your life, perhaps look in the mirror, recall what others -maybe even family members have said about you as though it were a denial of the Word of God you've just read above.
REGARDLESS (or more accurately because) of these realities what God Himself says about us is more important that what others say. This ultimately includes any human judgment that is not fully aligned with the Book of God. Now understand, scriptures in both Testaments are clear to define the varied differences between humans as we either think, speak, act and treat others based in His love ...or not. There's the rub, right?
Though all of us are truly created by God "in His image", what HE defines as sin, (literally "missing the mark"), those free-will choices that tarnish and obscure our image-bearing still and yet the fact is He knew what He was doing when He created us -and knows now! His plans for you and me are far beyond our comprehension but for what we are able to gather from all He says about us in His Word (Bible).
Sure, one can live in the mud of the world and our own lousy decisions, can swim in rage, depression and harsh self-judgment to the extent no forward movement, no recovery, re-gaining or maturing into more and more of His image to the extent that option and very desire of God for our life just stalls. But that's not a given, an absolute, a "destiny" for His image-bearers!
The power of God is available upon our repenting ("re-thinking") and part of that means trusting HIS Words over our own thoughts and self-condemnation and/or that of others who themselves are NOT God.
Today, right NOW is the time to reach out and up to your heavenly Father for forgiveness, help and a prayer to think of yourself as HE says you are: created in His image, not merely left on your own, alone, sin-plagued and wasting you life as if you have no value. Jesus on the cross and His resurrection, all His words and example says otherwise!!
Thank God we can pray, repent, turn toward the One Who formed us to become more and more like Him... take up our cross and with His help, move forward this very day.
And as always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
