Wisdom, REALLY...

So James tells us (James 3.17, 18) "But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for/by those who make peace."

Often the Spirit calls me to think on this as I take and manifest whatever attitude, serve people whether in a good or not good mood, when I'm thankful, grateful or angry, caught in a moment of self-pity and generally would rather -not- serve in the particular way or the specific person/s and so on. Pretty humbling, sobering and one of the best ways I know to "look in the mirror" of my own motives and life, at least in the moment. Whew!

And yet, there are those "Ok, walking in the Spirit now" times when "all the world's right", right? My fellow Christ-followers, flawed as I am, as sometimes petty and in need of mood adjustments, God's grace compels us to grow in these areas, no?

PURE

PEACEABLE

GENTLE

WILLING TO YIELD

FULL OF MERCY

FULL OF GOOD FRUITS (also see Galatians 5.23, 24)

WITHOUT A TRACE OF PARTIALITY

WITHOUT A TRACE OF HYPOCRISY

Finally, nobody fully lives all this out every second in every day and yet I ask myself if those I consider spiritual and practical heroes do reflect these attributes as they seek like I do, to genuinely follow Jesus and His will and way in this world.

Things to consider along our journey? I believe to our own and other's benefit, yes.

As always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn
