Two Rings :)

Symbols and symbolism come easy for a musician like myself as well as plenty of others. Of course one can mentally/emotionally attach sentiment to just about anything be it a memory, time, a place and whatever material thing -or not. Understood by me.

This is my left and right hand- the colors look a bit off, different, as I took it outside, but both are my own hands.

So the pic here is meaningful to me for 2 reasons: my incredible Gift- my Wendi wife, Queen of my heart for sure! The other is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ -Whom without there'd have been no Wendi, no me, no marriage and all the BLESSINGS of love, salvation, callings to serve and experience as well as sharing of the experiences of His (and our) love with a world desperate for that life that only love can give, that eternal life that only Jesus offers!

Wendi and I were both 19 (I'm the old one by 3 months, ha) in May of 1972 when we went to the big apartment store in downtown Milwaukee and purchased 2 wedding rings for 50 bucks each. Sadly, some time later she lost hers likely down a sink -but mine has been on my hand for these decades and doesn't come off.

The other symbol and constant reminder of God's love is a simple (non-matching because it's silver) and likely cheapo ring that sorta-kinda has a very basic Celtic knot vibe. I love so much of the Celtic culture and especially Christian imagery. As Wendi and I went to a massively wide area of Chicago yard/garage sales several weeks ago I noticed it on a guy's table in front of his house. I asked him how low he might go once I realized it would fit me. He smiled and said "How about free?" "Wow! Really? You made my week, thanks so very much!"

I touch my wedding ring near daily and have begun to do so with the newer one on my other hand- they are constant reminders of the two most important and daily relationships in my world- my amazing, sweet Bride and our intertwining life with our risen Lord and Savior Jesus.

Nothing in this current world is endless- but God's love in Christ is -and our marriage is a present deep and fruit-bearing reminder of the now-and-future eternal love coming for all who believe, know and follow Him.

Reminders are a blessing and for me, these two rings signify what is and shall be most important!
