Traveling Light

Traveling light?

Deciding what to pack is always interesting, especially if you travel as much as I do it's essential. Well I always come home with a few items I never wore -or turned out I hadn't needed but better to have extra as sometimes schedules and travel changes happen.

I recall a trip to Germany where the airline lost all my luggage for a couple days... but I did get a fresh set of clothes, toiletries and a very cool travel kit that I use to this very day from it, so...

A dear family member by marriage entered the literal presence of God after battling a very taxing illness. The blessing is he loved and served Jesus, his wife, kids, grandkids and church honorably for decades and was ready to travel. Jesus paid the ticket for his life a long time ago and none of us doubts he's in the true home where we'll all see one another again. Is there loss, pain, grief? Absolutely. There is also peace in the love and kingdom of God here and literally, there with the Lord.

So the idea of traveling light came to mind- no sin clinging to drag him away from the Lord, a life well lived in God's service, a kingdom eternal "kept for you" [him] and faith to carry until angels helped with the transportation.

Dear reader, it is my hope you don't pack nonsense, un-needed unforgiveness, un-repented sin or other useless or even harmful items. May we walk in the light and travel light.

It's of course best to plan ahead for a trip we'll all be taking in due time.

With Love and fair warning -and as always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn
