Thank God for Erasers!

Back-to-school post? Actually, yes- regardless of our age or place in life.
One of a massive amount of Bible truths is that Jesus died to forgive our sins.
Some of my earliest school memories include the scent and often use of erasers, the small block kind as well as those topping pencils. In fact part of the reason for using pencils was that our teachers were preparing us to face and accept our inevitable mistakes -failures if you will- and to enable us in FIXING rather than denying them.
I don't always use mechanical pencils but love 'em -with erasers on top :) I mostly use pencils with or without 'em in carpentry work. But you get the point (no pun intended).
Jesus' blood not only answers our need of a Savior but of God's design for saving GRACE and yep- erasure of our sins, not only forgiveness. Where would you and I be dear professing Christ-follower without it?!
Denial of mistakes and at times deliberate ignoring, side-stepping our personal responsibility in no way changes the fact (as one translation renders it) "we all often make many mistakes". Thank God Almighty for choosing to forgive, forget, erase our wrongdoings due to what Jesus did for us on the cross!!! There aren't enough exclamation marks for that last sentence!
Our scholastic teachers prepared us to both fail and succeed beyond our blunders. Our heavenly Father by Jesus and the Spirit do so far beyond those folks.
Mistakes, wrong or self-centered judgments and our violation of God's commands throughout His Word are what they are. Who we are and can grow to be IN CHRIST, relationally with choosing to repent and try again HIS way is an incredible gift. "Missing the mark" happens. So can Jesus' grace to re-write our script!
Maybe our earthly eraser gets worn down... not His :)
As always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn
