Talents!

It's interesting that when Jesus taught using "talents" He never specified what they were. Could be natural abilities therefore "skills" one has from birth -but those can be deepened and expanded by study, learning, practice, application. I expect the talents include spiritual gifts -see 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans chapter 12 for more detail.

Some of any of either can seem small, insignificant but Jesus calls us to -invest- and grow them thus serving God by serving others, blessing others via our talents. Note, He says their source is God Himself!

What are you and I doing... gaining more so we have more to give... or allowing our talents to remain silent and stagnant? God's love and our convictions re. what ought to be our "reasonable worship" (Romans 12.1) motivates us to growth, investment, gaining more talents, not bury them as per Jesus' parable. See Matthew chapter 25 for His teaching on this.

Peter's clear statement? "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace" (1 Pet. 4.10)

Important for the journey of a genuine disciple of Jesus!

And as always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn

Brother, I’ve seen you solo twice and I’m stoked you’ll have the whole band with you in Urbana. Big fun for me! Well, I’m sure I’m not the only one.
