SHARE? Let 'Em Go Git Their Own!

I've written on this prior and likely will again- but my mind is on sharing.
I'm sad to admit I've not always been the best I could be at sharing what I have, but what I do have of any value? All gifts from God.
"What have you been given that is not a gift?" is an excellent question the Word of God asks us. Yes, I'm aware the context of that statement of Paul relates directly to salvation vs. works of the law (as though we could EARN our salvation! Nope), I get that. Yet there is a concept at core that does and should trouble all who credit themselves for effort when the very ability to apply such effort comes from God Himself. We are not ultimately the source of anything of value.
The problem is obvious- we can easily de-value human beings, consider them lessors, fools, worthless. Jesus did not die for sinners with "no value"! GOD VALUES ALL PEOPLE enough to send His Son to die and rise that they might be saved. Think on that the next time you get into self-righteous mode.
Yet this idea, the very example of Jesus of pouring out, sharing, passion in passing all the good (!) He had for us UNWORTHY and often obstinate, ornery and selfish people has always been an incredible draw, sinners to the Sinless One.
My concern for His will, to emulate His example and to pass what I can to others who seem or truly -are- in need of what I might offer is a continuing conviction (and I frankly hope more habitual in terms of my own life) regarding what living a Christ-honoring life is about.
Do I, you, have legit limits? Of course. I'm saying we limit ourselves too often for quite unjust, unloving reasons and therefore do not share as we should.
What Jesus did and does for us often sinful people each moment is share!
Self-focused hoarding, miserly hearts and minds are not the work of God the Holy Spirit. That's quite obvious from the Word and the example of millions who have followed Jesus throughout history.
I've long thought the greater miracle among His disciples in the feeding of the thousands on at least two occasions was not even the multiplication of bread and fish but that they surrendered their lunch to Him.
Oh Lord, cause us to have soft hearts, to give, share, offer what we -do- have to help meet needs of those who are in need!
As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
