How sad that even many who profess to follow Jesus relish vengeance on their enemies or even those who simply disagree with them! God Himself is the only one qualified to bring ultimate judgment on any of us, and it is not the Spirit of Christ calling US to exact retribution on those who cross us -is it????!!!!

This morning my wife and I engaged in a convo with a kind brother, also a believer. He mentioned loving to read the paper every morning. I replied "Me too but I read the Bible daily too or reading the news would be real difficult for me!" He agreed and carries a New Testament in his pocket all the time, reading each day as well.

Sadly, there are plenty of "apostles of condemnation", truly messed-up people who claim to know the Lord along with flat-out false "Christians" who don't seek God on such matters. They are also "evangelists of retribution", and the Spirit of God calls us to neither. Jesus could have called on the Father and an army of angels would have set His false accusers straight in a hurry of righteous judgment but that was not the will of God.

Paul, a real apostle, reminds us God has said "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay" says the Lord."

Rev. Gary Davis sang an often-used phrase "You can talk about me just as much as you please, I'll talk about you down on my knees" -and I think that's an excellent way to deal with our enemies whether real or imagined. As humans are tempted to take umbrage at every slight, aren't you and I thankful God doesn't with the many times and ways we slight Him?!

Things to consider as the world around us so readily melts down!

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
