I'm no pro photographer by a long shot but love to take and save pics which I have many hundreds of much like lots of you reading this due to mobile phones with cameras. Of course there's a whole retro camera thing going on as I write this in 2025 where younger peeps are loving the vibe and even the lesser yet distinctive qualities of such shots.
To a degree it's like songwriting, you take a LOT of pictures from various angles, in various shades of light and, etc., and the more pics you have the better chance of getting something really cool. My personal Instagram account is loaded with them -you can find that link in my homepage here in Wix if you wish.
So today my wife and I took a few moments to check out the city across from one of the Lake Michigan harbors near our home. It was a very foggy morning indeed but I did manage a few clicks. I'll just post 2 of them:

Mind you, I could of course tweak, edit, treat both of these in various ways to bring attention to some of the several details but these are straight from my phone. Not the most amazing ever but imho cool enough to keep :)
See, each one of us has various perspectives on what good, better, best, or perhaps nahhhh, cool, WOW are all about, don't we?
We live in a world full of humans who have always had individual and quite varied perspectives depending on what they see and feel from their "angle" -and we, ours. Nothing new about this at all.
But oh how we can be hyper-critical and rather than build bridges, construct walls ever higher where (I speak as a follower of Jesus now) rather than reaching out with grace and compassion we merely break any possibility of sharing anything of value. In my case, it really is the Good News of Jesus and hopefully enough of His loving and grace yet -truth- to where it's possible to link rather than grab for the cement trowel, hard hat along with a hard heart and perhaps even disgust.
Is God Himself disgusted with sin-thick perspectives? I'm quite sure He is- and as much with those in you and I than in those around us we judge as "even MORE sinful than I am". Hmmm.
Maybe we all need to learn how to truly love our enemies as Jesus commands. Sometimes our perspectives aren't any purer or more righteous. Ahhh but this takes humility. It takes a lot more snapshots, a lot more angles of consideration and a lot more work than some wish to put into it. Thank God- Jesus offers more love than that.
Lord help us to grow in patience in process of reaching beyond our own tastes -and prejudices. As "children of the light" please move us beyond the "fog" we ourselves create.
As always, thanks for stopping by! -Glenn
