Mind Over Heart??

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not even close to denying mind, intellect, fact-based truth and reality... and yet Jesus taught the most important commandment was to love God with ALL our heart, soul and might as well as mind, the second most important to love one's neighbor as one's self.

Don't miss the fact that heart and soul, even strength (or "might") gets into metaphysics, to spirituality and the depth of our genuine desires, passions, sought-after focus and results. We do not and must not disconnect our thinking from all these but it's a both/and deal!

Loving both God and people has to move beyond mere emotions but it is very, very often illogical to do so. We consider and even manufacture "reasons" to NOT love, to skip, neuter or numb ourselves when it comes to sacrificing what our will (over and against God's clearly commanded will) seeks in life this side of heaven.

I suggest to you and myself, both, that loving God as well as others includes all four areas Jesus highlighted.

These are important things to consider as so many professing Christians ignore any of them on the way to... I don't know what -but often it's simply what they may call "living" when it's simply surviving away from the One they somehow decided to call their "Lord".

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
