Mind Music?

Indeed so. I posit that music starts in and with the mind. Not the ears, but in our heads, our brains. Why?

Consider people who are musicians, who by DNA and upbringing and culture hear and consider music early-on, perhaps by their pregnant mother singing. With zero mind how could they process music? Music doesn't have to be fully understood intellectually to be accessed internally... but I say the mind engages it regardless.

Then consider those who will never be able to "carry a tune" in singing, never learn to play any musical instrument. Go farther still to those completely deaf or jailed, imprisoned in places they cannot hear a radio, film music, videos, anything with music involved. No one can hear their thoughts, adjust the volume, change the style of real music within their mind whether only surfacing there from memories or created mentally by mere thought.

I'm convinced music doesn't -begin- with hearing alone but truly in one's ability to think music whether partial or entire songs. Melody, rhythm, whatever instruments, beats can and will be thought at the behest or stimulation of the individual and whether anyone around them is involved directly or not.

God has given us each an amazing thing- a brain that can imagine, recall, create not only images but sound with no actual sounds being made any ear can hear.

Such has been a continual part of worship, an element of "pray without ceasing" and a grace, joy and even medicinal therapy from the dawn of His creating humans on earth.

You can be seated or standing in public transport and "play music" inside your head with no sound at all.

It is one of the most amazing gifts for which He is due thanks, praise and blessing -for music surely blesses us and enables us to bless others by sharing!

As always, thanks for stopping by :) -Glenn

Faith in the Unfaithful?

How difficult to have faith in an unfaithful person! Some judge God and you and I as not worthy of respect as neither always seems to provide reasons to trust. We simply don't always get what we want
