LIFE. LIGHT. YES!

John in his Gospel, chapter 1 verse 4 makes what on the surface seems a rather plain statement about Jesus Christ:

"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. NASB 95

"The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to people". GNT

"In Him was life, and the life was the light of all people". NRSV

He goes on to say the light shines in darkness and that darkness cannot extinguish, can never put an end to it.

Jesus Himself stated in public “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life". -John 8.12

Further- The letter 1 John uses the term "light" some five times and the term "life" twelve times. He writes "And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life". -1 John 5.11, 12

If, as per Genesis 1.3 God said "Let there be light", the real issue isn't merely what we see with our eyes such as the sun, moon, stars and artificial (human-produced) light but spiritual, moral, physical and any other true light including what our eyes see by light and all that comes with it: being able to walk without stumbling, avoid walking off a cliff or tromping other people down.

LIGHT and LIFE are sourced in Jesus Christ and given us for clarity... to thoroughly enlighten, protect and bless both ourselves and others through us, to pass light and life on to those still living in darkness regardless of how that darkness, blindness and often confusion, cloud-filled lostness blights their current situation.

What's even more incredible is Jesus also said "You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven". Matthew 5.14-16

It isn't rocket science how to reflect the love, light and life of Jesus if we will -in love- obey Him and take notice of those around us in need!

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn

Education... ESSENTIAL

So it's obvious from day one, from Genesis 1.1 and from everything written, spoken and repeated in human history that education is a major and indeed essential part of life. It's also obvious that reg
