Intent.

Over the past several years I have come to deeply love the word "intentional" and the core of it- "intent".

It causes me to consider "What does God Himself intend for us? What is his intent toward me?"

One of the earliest scriptures that I saw just before I came to saving faith in Jesus was in Jeremiah. The prophet states that God intends good and not harm, to give us a future and a hope- "For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." -Jer. 29.11

I think it would be helpful for us all to pray from time to time "God, what is Your intent?"

Do we believe God exists, that He actually has a plan for us- and that His plan is regardless of anything- BEST for us? I do. Truly.

There are indeed times in scripture and of course in the historical lives of godly followers of Jesus where the Spirit clearly intended them to go where they'd have -never- chosen to go on their own. The results on earth and in heaven speak volumes when they obeyed and disobeyed His intent for them.

Do we choose God's confirmed choice or merely focus on our own desires during our time on this planet?

We really must ask ourselves honestly "what do we intend to do with His intent in a matter?

This is a major part of the picture that together with God, we paint the true and best picture of our life!

And as always,, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
