God's Generosity/Our Contradiction(s)

May seem weird to link these two concepts but to me it's actually quite right and even precise to the issues involved.

Without writing a book- have you really -I mean REALLY thought about how incredibly generous our heavenly Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit truly is and are?? Air, water, gravity, food, any protection of clothing and shelter from weather, any positive health in our bodies, daily care and more kind gentile reminders that He IS and is present -all of these and more demonstrate His generosity.

Considering Jesus' coming into the world, God-as-man and sacrificing, demonstrating the heart of the Father, dying for OUR sins (He had and has none), walking out of the tomb- resurrection- and offering eternal life to "whosoever will, let them come"... how generous is that?! Can we ever beat it, out-better His generosity? Nada, not even close.

There are moments, times when I have been and can be quite generous but plenty I'd rather not, that's the honest truth. How about you?

And then comes this idea of contradiction...

We ALL contradict God -Who NEVER contradicts Himself. He of course is sinless, utterly perfect and none of us are.

We contradict God by being sinful in any and all areas listed in God's Word, and there are plenty of them. Paul himself writes about this in his own life. So the virtues of love, kindness, forgiveness, suffering rather than causing suffering, on and on in the four Gospels according to Jesus (via Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) and the rest of God's Word in both Testaments proclaim the fact He never changes and that Jesus didn't come to condemn but to SAVE the world- all of this is the reality of His generosity and our duplicity as we say one thing and do something else, talk of love and harbor hate, malice and stay ignorant, rebel against or neglect His Words, His commands, and to love as He loved/loves/calls us to do like Jesus!

I say we are each and all at times walking contradictions. I recognized it in myself from my earliest spiritual awakening and walk with Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I saw and continue to see it among my massive amount of professing Christ-following friends.

May God help you and I dear reader, to contradict the devil, the un-saved often un-loving, even brutal world, yes, even when our brother and sisters in Christ contradict God as we ourselves do. May we truly grow in living and giving generously as our Lord did and does!

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
