From and To!

A recorded statement of public prayer from King David re. building the temple:

"But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given You." -1 Chronicles 29.14

If you've been reading my posts here you'll know I've recently accented God as THE Source of all. Here David plainly proclaims "ALL THINGS come from You, and from Your hand we have given you." We are only returning to Him from what He's already given us.

Gifts, talents, the ability to learn and grow in them, same for whatever skills we've got.

Truth is unless God provided it none of us have whatever it is. Fact.

"All" means "all"!

Many times over my lifetime people have praised me, written humbling accolades re. Resurrection Band, GKB, my solo work and myself personally -it can get overwhelming and of course the reality is if I got what I deserve... I shudder to think of it because God fully knows my lack, slack and at times off the (His!) track!

As James says, "EVERY good and precious gift" comes from Him.

This is why I do -not- glibly speak of "glory to God" or respond "it's all grace!" along with "Thank you" -because only God deserves the glory. Only. For all good comes from His hand to us.

This is also why the people of God will one day proclaim HIS Glory together before His throne for He alone is worthy of ALL glory!

And as always, thanks for stopping by :) -Glenn

Tolerance?!

First, I'm only being half-snarky when I say this word seems far "too big" for many in our times... and before I begin, I don't think it means what many of us think it does -and that especially if you
