Connecting

You know, relationship, linking up, getting closer.

Years ago one of many songs I've written about such deals with this (Ever Closer):

One issue is of course whether we -want- to draw closer to God. If we do not, or if something or someone else is more important to us we then have minimized our bridge. Narrowing the gap between ourselves and Him is important, even essential.

The old basics of prayer, study of His Word (Bible), confession and repentance of what He in His Word calls out at sin -blockages in our relationship, and the daily will to seek after Him and His ways are all part of the path to closeness and greater connectivity.

Seeking God is a matter of choice, of being mindful. We don't benefit from an orchard loaded with the finest fruit if we never go there, never harvest, do not connect by being there.

So what will it be for you or myself today?

David via Psalm 27.4 comes to mind:

"One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple."

Strongs breaks that term "meditate" down from the Hebrew "A primitive root; properly, to plough, or (generally) break forth, i.e. (figuratively) to inspect, admire, care for, consider -- (make) inquire (-ry), (make) search, seek out."

Connecting is not only possible, but His desire to be with us and we with Him!

As always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
