Activists??
I want to be clear that God the Father, Jesus our Lord and the Spirit of truth calls we who profess to follow the Lord actively and not passively. That, my brothers and sisters in Christ means we are by His very will Activists.
Oh I know, you think of a mere political or ideological or extreme religionist fanatic an activist but whether or not you, I or even God Himself disagrees with them (as He surely does with you and me at times and in various areas) they at least don't sit behind walls living in doing -nothing- for people in need.
Sadly, too many self-proclaimed Christians live spiritually and even self-centered lives, sometimes in fear, sometimes in angry-self-righteousness blaming others for doing things to alleviate suffering though they themselves rarely lift a finger to help people in need.
I often remind folks it's the Book of ACTS, not concepts and ideas left to sit on a couch or church pew as theory alone.
So yes, God's love to us -and- THROUGH us is an active, not passive or only moral value!
James in his letter to the church makes it quite clear that faith without works is dead. I think the same can be said about love for our neighbors and even enemies.
Jesus calls us each and all to be activists, not gatherers of information stuffed in our heads while living a cold-hearted life.
And as always, thanks for stopping by. -Glenn
